Dinner with Nuriko and John Reach
3rd-Nov-2007 10:56 am
Chinese
((OOC: This take place after the the party where Amy offered to take John and Nuriko to dinner. This is the evening where the three of them are to meet for dinner.))

Amy stands in the downstairs lobby of the girls dorm at Hawthorne Academy, waiting for her room mate and John Reach. Her dark hair is in her usual twin braids and she is wearing a form-fitting chinese dress, red with gold dragons on it. Perhaps the dress has been fitted to Amy, for while she is not that tall, she is noticeably more busty than a typical Chinese girl of her size.

John bides his time just outside the girl's dorm, listening to his iPod and practicing his dance moves. To his dismay, his best dress clothes is his least worn Hawthone uniform. The flash of color in Amy's dress catches his attention, and he is thunderstruck for a few breaths after he sees her.

"Oh, hey..."
4th-Nov-2007 02:24 am (UTC)
"Oh hey, yourself," Amy says with a smile. "So, you like this?" Amy asks, turning around so John can get a look at the back of her dress.

15th-Nov-2007 12:01 am (UTC)
**OH MY GOD!!! Wait, she asked us a question. SAY SOMETHING YOU FOOL! Don't just stand there drooling on yourself!**

"Um, yeah."

**That was just Fucking Pathetic. That's it! I'm leaving. We're getting a divorce from the meatspace.**
15th-Nov-2007 12:26 pm (UTC)
Amy attempts to look at the back of her dress, then gives John a puzzled look. **Is there something wrong with the dress? Did I get something on it?**

Amy spots Nuriko. "Here comes Nuriko!" she exclaims.
18th-Nov-2007 02:49 pm (UTC)
"No no! It was just a beautiful cobra to my hypnotized mouse of a brain for a minute there."
19th-Nov-2007 07:23 pm (UTC)
Amused, Amy smiles. "I think I like your cute little mouse."
19th-Nov-2007 09:35 pm (UTC)
"Heee." Girl-induced lobotomy threatens to settle in once more. "Thfanx, Amy."
4th-Nov-2007 03:19 am (UTC)
Nuriko comes down the stairs. Spotting Amy and John, she waves as she walks over to them.

She's wearing a low-cut red dress with a short skirt that shows off her assets to advantage. Red stones set in gold dangle from her ears, and she's carrying a small clutch purse that matches her dress. She carries a bright red nylon windbreaker slung over one arm.

"You both look very nice," she says, looking them up and down appreciatively.
7th-Nov-2007 12:31 am (UTC)
Amy looks Nuriko up and down in return, then again for good measure. Amy grins. "Nice is an understatement for you. Fucking hot is better."
9th-Nov-2007 08:24 pm (UTC)
Nuriko colors prettily. "Thank you very much." She gives both Johan and Amy a radiant smile, then asks, "So where would you like to go? I don't know much about the area, so maybe someone else should decide."
11th-Nov-2007 02:24 pm (UTC)
"We're all dressed up, so I think the Blue Rose Inn would be the best place," says Amy.
15th-Nov-2007 12:11 am (UTC)
After struggling with his girl-induced coma: "Yeah, I've heard of that place but never been there. You two sexy ladies ready?"
15th-Nov-2007 12:43 pm (UTC) - Now with the right icon...
John's comment earns him a pleased (if somewhat smug) smile from Amy. "I'm ready."

((OOC: Continues here.))
15th-Nov-2007 12:40 pm (UTC) - The Blue Rose
The sign outside the Blue Rose is illuminated by a spot light and has a large blue rose pained on it, and the building itself is Georgian. The interior is lit by disguised electric lights, and in the rooms seen off the entrance hall, candles on the tables.

The three of them are shown to a table near one a large active fireplace.
16th-Nov-2007 10:06 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
Nuriko looks delighted at the Blue Rose. "This place is beautiful!" she enthuses. She looks enchanted at the sight of the fireplace. "I've never seen one of these up close - they never had anything like this back home."
18th-Nov-2007 03:00 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"Why kind of restaurants did you like to go to back home, Nuriko?"
21st-Nov-2007 01:29 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"Well, there was a noodle shop near my school that I went to sometimes, and once, we went to a really nice Japanese restaurant for my parents' anniversary." She looks wistful for a moment or two. "But the best food I ever had was from the street vendors at the festival in the springtime - they had the best ampan." Realizing that John and Amy may not know what she means, she elaborates, "That's a steamed bun with sweet bean jam paste inside it - it's so good!"
22nd-Nov-2007 03:06 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"Ohyeah, I had that once. It wasn't called that though. What kind of food do you like, Amy?"
25th-Nov-2007 12:57 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
Amy looks thoughtful. "Rare steak is good, and there's of course pizza and chocolate. Indian and Thai are good, though I can't handle too spicy." After a moment she adds, "I'm willing to try most things."

She gives John a grin. "Looks like it's your turn now."
2nd-Dec-2007 05:06 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"Me? Oh, 'am a Southern boy by rearing and breeding, so grits and cornbread and the like are my comfort food, not that I can get much of it up here. But tonight I think I'll try the special."
3rd-Dec-2007 01:20 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
Nuriko looks up from the menu, looking perplexed. "Grits?" she asks, blinking. "And corn bread? Is that a bread made out of corn?" She pauses. "I had corn on pizza a few times back home, but never in bread."
3rd-Dec-2007 11:10 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"I think they use corn meal instead of regular flour in corn bread. In any case it's good." Amy chuckles. "And I would have never thought of corn on pizza."
4th-Dec-2007 03:14 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
He nods. "Yeah, me neither."
6th-Dec-2007 02:56 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
John looks thoughtful. "You kjnow, Amy, Nuriko, I'd love to talk about food, but I need to talk. I keep going over what happened in the party in my mind. Y'know, the weird shit..." He pauses, uncertain as to where he wants to lead the conversation.
6th-Dec-2007 11:41 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
Amy nods. "Like the policeman who wasn't, Nuriko seeing dogs where I saw two guys, not of us hearing the same things..." Amy grins wryly. "All the stuff no one else in their right mind is ever going to believe us about."
7th-Dec-2007 03:14 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"Heh, I've always been a little left of my right mind, but that was the weirdest night I've had... since my childhood; and researching weird shit is my curriculum vitae!"
7th-Dec-2007 11:05 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
Nuriko hasn't said much as Amy and John converse. Now, though, she says quietly, "What was it that Shakespeare said? 'There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in our philosophy?'" She lowers her voice. "That goes for Hell, too."
8th-Dec-2007 03:18 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
He looks at his classmate a moment, face alive with curiosity. "Things just dreamed of, imagined, or all too real?"
9th-Dec-2007 04:09 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
Nuriko swallows. "If it was a dream, it turned into a nightmare very quickly," she says quietly. She takes a deep breath. "When I was little, I used to watch a lot of mahoshoujo - I think the term here is 'Magical Girl' - shows. I used to dream about going to magical worlds and having adventures in them." She shakes her head. "Maybe that's why I fell for it so easily when...he came to me."
9th-Dec-2007 04:25 pm (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"He?" says Amy. "I'm going to guess he was handsome." She looks over at John, then back at Nuriko. "But don't be too hard on yourself, Nuriko - I think you're not the only one her that could fall for someone good looking. I've gone nuts over football players who's IQs were smaller than their shoe size."
10th-Dec-2007 04:46 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
John remains quiet, watching the two young women, perhaps evaluating their words and weighing his own.
19th-Dec-2007 01:19 am (UTC) - Re: The Blue Rose
"Oh, he was handsome," Nuriko says softly. "Like something out of a manga. He told me that he was a prince, and that he'd chosen me to be his princess." Her mouth twists in a wry smile. "And I fell for it." Her smile fades. "I didn't know - then - what a liar he was."
